NBA Thompson leaves GSW for Dallas

U.S. media "agreed the terms and conditions of the contract period of 3 years and 69.2 billion won"
Golden State "Thompson legacy will forever be remembered"

Klay Thompson, a guard who represented the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA), is expected to join the Dallas Mavericks. The Golden State has decided to make Thompson's number 11 a permanent absence.

"According to sources, Thompson, a free agent (FA), agreed to sign a contract with Dallas for three years and $50 million (about 69.2 billion won)," the U.S. media ESPN reported on the 2nd (Korean time).

According to the media, the Los Angeles (LA) Lakers were also interested, but Thompson was reportedly drawn to Dallas, which won the NBA Playoff (PO) Western Conference last season.

Thompson is one of the stars who has represented the team for 13 years since being drafted by Golden State with the 11th pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

He won the NBA title four times with Golden State and also won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Thompson won 518 regular season and playoffs with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green at Golden State, the sixth-most wins of any trio ever, according to ESPN.

However, Thompson, who has already turned 34, had a big shake in the Golden State last season.

Thompson, who was pushed to the bench at the end of the season, averaged 17.9 points, the lowest point (16.6 points) since the 2012-2013 season.

Eventually, Thompson leaves Golden State for Dallas to begin a new challenge.

Dallas advanced to the championship by winning the Western Conference last season, but finished second behind the Boston Celtics (1-4).

Meanwhile, the Golden State decided to designate No. 11, which Thompson wore, as a permanent absence.

"I cannot overemphasize Thompson's remarkable achievements. The joy he brought to Golden State fans all over the world was tremendous," Golden State said on its website.  슬롯사이트

"Thompson's legacy will be remembered forever. The club will look forward to the day when he will retire No. 11 from the Chase Center (Golden State Stadium). He will be here with countless players," he said in a statement.

Thompson will remain in Golden State's history with previous permanent absence legends such as Chris Mullen, Rick Berry and Alvin Atlis.
